Coriander chutney/Kothamalli chutney is a wonderful sidedish for rice.Its goes very well with tiffin item also but with white rice its goes very yummy.This recipe was teach by grandma,her cooking is heaven,Any thing prepared by her hand is awesome and wonderful.Coriander has lots of health benefits,daily we can need to take coriander in any form.With this chutney you will prepared coriander dosa also.Normally in this chutney we add onion and tomato but my grandma add some more ingredients to made this chutney as awesome.Once you taste this chutney you never forgot the taste of this chutney.Here my grandma add thoodhuvalai/Solanum trilobatum is good for cold.So my grandma add this chutney it doesn't change the taste.It will add extra taste to the chutney.
Preparation : 15 minutes
Cooking : 30 minutes
Serve : 4 nos
Ingredients
To Grind A
1.Coriander - 2 cup(tightly packed)
2.Onion - 1 cup chopped
3.Garlic - 8 nos
4.Ginger - 1/2 inch
5.Tomato - 1 nos
6.Tamarind - 1 small gooseberry size
7.Thoodhuvalai(optional) - few
8.Salt - As per taste
9.Oil - 1 tbspn
To Grind B
1.Channa Dal - 3/4 tbspn
2.Urad dal - 1 tspn
3.Red Chilli - 8 nos
4.Cocount - 2 tbspn
5.Oil - 3/4 tbspn
Tempering
1.Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tspn
2.Urad dal - 1/4 tspn
3.Curry leaves - few
4.Red chilli - 1 no
5.Oil - 1 1/2 tsp
Method
1.Heat a pan,add oil,once oil heat add garlic and fry for 1 minute and add onion,ginger,fry until onion turns golden brown
2.Now add tomato and tamarind,fry for few minutes
3.Now add thoodhuvalai,fry for 3 to 4 minutes ( this is optional)
4.Now add coriander and fry it
5.Switch off the flame and keep it cool
6.Heat a pan,add oil once pan heat,now add the ingredients mentioned in grind B one by one and fry all the ingredients
7.Once roast it,switch off the flame and cool it
8.In a jar,add both the mixture along with salt and make a fine paste
9.Now it's time for tempering,heat a pan,add oil and add ingredients mentioned in tempering
10.Now add paste and cook it for 5 minutes in medium flame
11.Now yummy Chutney is ready to serve
